Italia Yachts 12.98
all set for debut in Cannes and Genoa
The new Italia Yachts 12.98 will have her world premiere at the upcoming boat shows Cannes Yachting Festival (Stand in Port Canto- Sail 170) and Genoa Boat Show (Stand: B SB11). She will be fresh from launching and, while having followed her step by step from conception to construction, we will all be eager to discover her qualities. The exterior lines are still recognizable but are softened, compared to the latest models in the range and the exterior spaces are continuous to be very spacious and livable. In the bow thanks to the underdeck passage of all manoeuvres and flush skylights, and in the cockpit, large spaces are left completely unobstructed for an easy passage from stern to bow. The folding swim platform becomes an appreciable terrace on the water. Born to be a real cruising boat, with many comforts and adequate and well-calibrated spaces inside and out, we are sure that she will not betray even the expectations of those who with the boat also want to have fun: in sailing always and maybe even in racing. Special studies have been dedicated to her for the interiors, where Mirko Arbore has included among his focuses also that of the lightness of the elements, where the pleasantness of complete and cosy furnishings is also perceived by the material effect of the bulkheads." IY 12.98 Bellissima is furnished with real sofas, with high and enveloping sides, reminiscent of the comfort of home seating. The same concept has been transferred to the owner's cabin bed with a high back that nevertheless leaves the edges of the boat free to allow freedom of movement for the blackout blinds. The bulkheads have a new concept by becoming 'lamps' with an interplay of overlapping multi-level coverings. The materials chosen for the bulkheads are textural, with rope, linen and cotton effects. Of course, there is no shortage of wood on the tall cabinets and on the sofa trim and on the table, to warm the room and make it more welcoming" the designer explains. The Fuoriserie version takes up the same canons as the Bellissima, lightening its weights a lot so that the boat remains comfortable but is fast and lighter for those who, in addition to cruising, intend to engage in competitions.
Italia Yachts and the new Shipyard:
larger to meet new demands
As Italia Yachts' production grows, in terms of the numbers of boats produced and the size of new projects, the production needs that, as amply demonstrated, rely heavily on technology and quality, change. The new shipyard is in Fano and is developed on 5.000 square meters for production, necessary for the development we want to make in terms of technology, quality and production growth: the goal is to get to build 40 boats in 2024 and to do so guaranteeing the same quality from the largest to the smallest. In the new facility, construction takes place on production lines on rails where it is the boat that moves to follow the progress in the processing. This allows the speeding up of construction time with greater quality control. As a result, aftersales interventions will also be evidently reduced.
We had a good time. Italia Yachts Sailing Week was an enjoyable time for everyone
Accomplice to the location, Porto Cervo and the crystal clear waters of the Costa Smeralda, days of those that cannot fail to reconcile with the world, and some exceptional presence that seemed to have arrived there for us: the majestic Amerigo Vespucci that kept company with the school ship Orsa Maggiore, this one, officially on the race course for us. Beautiful days at sea, among the islands of the La Maddalena archipelago and fun ashore between comments on the dock in front of pictures of the day at sea and evenings with friends. Judging from the comments of those who participated in the first Italia Yachts Sailing Week it was a good event for winners and non-winners. To be repeated !
